Our commitment
Imperial Vintage Guitars is committed to making imperialvintageguitars.com usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, speech input, or other assistive technology. We treat accessibility as part of running the store, not as a one-time project.
Conformance target
We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most commonly referenced for commercial websites in the United States.
Our current assessment is that the site substantially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with the known exceptions listed below. "Substantially conforms" means the site was tested against the standard and the defects found were corrected; it does not mean every possible barrier has been eliminated.
How the site was tested
The storefront was last reviewed on August 13, 2026. Testing combined several independent methods, because no single tool detects every barrier:
- Three separate automated rule engines — axe-core, HTML_CodeSniffer, and the IBM Equal Access Checker — run against every page listed in the site's sitemaps
- Google Lighthouse accessibility auditing
- Markup validation through the W3C Nu HTML Checker
- Manual keyboard testing: tab order, focus visibility, and confirmation that no keyboard trap exists
- Manual checks that automated tools cannot perform, including page reflow at a 320-pixel viewport, the WCAG text-spacing override, and direct measurement of text contrast against photographic backgrounds
At the conclusion of that review, all three automated engines reported zero violations across the site.
Known limitations
We publish these openly rather than wait until they are resolved.
- Video captions. A written transcript of the homepage video is published directly beneath it on this site. The video’s own captions are still the automatically generated ones, which are not accurate enough to meet the standard; reviewed captions have been prepared and are awaiting upload to the video host.
- Image descriptions. Every product photograph now carries a written description of what it shows — the angle, the finish, the hardware, and any visible wear — rather than only the product name. Descriptions are reviewed as stock changes.
- Third-party content. Some features — payment, reviews, chat, and search — are supplied by outside vendors and render inside our pages. We test them and report defects to those vendors, but we do not control their code. If one of these features blocks you, please tell us and we will provide the same service another way.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to explain what we can do and by when. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will offer another way to get you the same result — including completing an order for you by telephone.
Alternative ways to reach us
Every product we sell can be purchased by telephone during business hours, and our staff can describe any item, answer questions, and complete the transaction without requiring you to use the website. Appraisals, repairs, and sales enquiries can all be handled by phone or in person.
Ongoing work
We re-test the site after significant changes and on a recurring schedule, and we review new third-party applications for accessibility before adding them. This statement is updated when our assessment changes.
