The Silvertone K55 Super Jumbo is a rare and striking guitar originally built in the late 1940s by Kay Guitar Company for Silvertone-branded retail distribution. With a massive lower-bout width—17 1/8″ in some examples—it delivers bold projection and deep tonal character. Constructed with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, it reflects a combination of accessibility and serious acoustic power. Despite being marketed as more affordable at the time, modern players prize it for its vintage voice, unique size and historic value. If you’re after a large-bodied vintage acoustic with personality, the K55 is a standout.
