The Ampeg GS-12R Reverberocket II is a classic mid-1960s all-tube guitar combo amplifier, prized for its warm, articulate tone and early onboard effects. Designed as a compact gigging amp, it typically delivers around 12–20 watts through a single 12-inch speaker, powered by vintage tube circuitry that emphasizes smooth breakup and rich harmonic character.

It features simple controls for volume and EQ, along with built-in spring reverb and tremolo, giving it a lush, atmospheric sound that suits blues, jazz, surf, and early rock styles. Known for its distinctive Ampeg voicing—cleaner and more hi-fi than many contemporaries—the Reverberocket II offers tight low end, chimey highs, and a rounded overdrive when pushed.

Today, the GS-12R is valued both as a recording amp and a vintage collectible, appreciated for its unique tonal character and its role as one of the first widely available combo amps to include reverb as a standard feature."
