The 1989 Gibson ES-335 Studio was introduced as a streamlined version of the traditional ES-335, offering the same laminated maple semi-hollow construction and solid maple center block in a simplified package. Factory features included no pickguard, master volume and master tone controls, dot fingerboard inlays, and a stop tailpiece, giving the guitar a clean, modern appearance while retaining the warm, articulate tone and excellent feedback resistance that made the ES-335 famous.
Today, the ES-335 Studio has developed a loyal following among players looking for a USA-made vintage Gibson with classic ES tone, lighter weight, and minimalist styling. Complete with its Original Hardshell Case, a clean 1989 example is both a versatile player's guitar and an increasingly collectible piece of late-1980s Gibson history.
